In memoriam: Edwin McDaid

In memoriam

It is with profound sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our firm’s founder, Edwin (Ed) McDaid.

We, the South Shore Staffing team, could not have asked for a better mentor, or friend, than Ed. And the staffing industry could not have someone who better exemplifies all that this industry should be. Ed’s vision from the beginning was that a successful staffing firm must do more than simply embrace the best practices and technology available; it must never lose sight of the importance of the personalized touch and commitment. Ed understood that a handshake and a face-to-face visit was far preferable to an e-mail, and he was guided by that principle as he built this business.

His boundless energy and enthusiasm was evident here at South Shore Staffing but also throughout the business community. He was an integral part of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, where he had numerous roles, including serving on their Board of Directors. Everyone who came in contact with Ed, either here at South Shore Staffing or throughout the business community, would have a similar reaction: “What a great guy,” or “He loves what he does,” or “He really went the extra mile to help me.”

We always loved hearing that kind of feedback. We are so proud of the example that Ed has set for all of us and this industry. And we will miss our founder and friend greatly.

As we go forward, we will remain committed to the high standards of client service and the principles that Ed so greatly valued. Please don’t hesitate to contact Steve Allen, our Managing Director, with any questions or ongoing needs.

Sincerely,

The South Shore Staffing Team
