SSS’s Guide to Snowstorm Preparation

According to the Boston Globe, since 1959 the top 10 blizzards to hit the Boston area have all fallen between the end of January and the beginning of March. So here we are now, in the heart of the blizzard season! For temporary workers this can cause some confusion and uncertainty about how the weather will affect your assignment and what to do. Here are a few quick tips to keep in mind when (or ideally before) the first flakes start to fly:

  1. Keep an eye on the weather patterns and storm warnings!
  2. Communicate directly with your supervisor on-site to ensure you’re fully aware of the company’s policies on storm delays and/or closings and how information is relayed to employees.
  3. If there is no winter storm plan in place at your current assignment or you may be uncomfortable speaking with your supervisor, give us a call! We can advise and figure out how to approach and handle the situation.
  4. Always remember your personal safety is of the utmost importance. Establishing these lines of communication is imperative to your safety and peace of mind so you can take the necessary precautions to prepare.
  5. Keep us posted if you’ll be out and/or if the company is closed so we are all on the same page.

Be safe!
