South Shore Staffing Employee of the Quarter: Sharon Simon

Congratulations to our second 2021 Employee of the Quarter: Sharon Simon

Our second Employee of the Quarter for 2021, Sharon Simon, of Canton, has been a friend of South Shore Staffing for almost 10 years! We have been lucky to place Sharon into positions three separate times and, each time, she’s received stellar reviews from her supervisors.

Unlike our first Employee of the Quarter Tony Gray, who prefers to stay busy with temporary jobs, Sharon has always targeted longevity in temp-to-hire and direct hire/perm roles. In fact, if it weren’t for COVID cutbacks, we may not have had the opportunity to work with her again! But after being laid off last year due to COVID from the temp-to-hire position we placed her at in 2017, she found herself reaching out to us once more for job search assistance.

After spending some time searching on her own in such a tough market, Sharon was very open-minded when we called her with a unique opportunity a few months ago. In conjunction with Millennium Staffing, SSS was asked to staff the Town of Randolph’s vaccine clinic and Sharon was ready to help.

True to her reputation, Sharon jumped right in and was asked to move into a supervisory role at the clinic after just a short time. She used her strong administrative skills to help with scheduling and managing the workload, and her marketing and customer service background came in very handy while working directly with the public. With so many people coming to the clinic in all kinds of weather, being able to keep things positive and running smoothly was paramount, and Sharon excelled.

She has been such an asset that, even though the vaccine clinic is winding down, she’s been asked to remain on through the summer.

We are thankful for Sharon’s willingness to accept a position that is so different from what she’s normally looking for. And though originally slated to be a short-term gig, it has turned into a longer assignment which is a great example of the importance of staying open-minded to temp work. You just never know how something temporary can evolve and how it can help not only keep a resume up-to-date, but can also provide opportunities to learn, network, and try something you may have never considered before.

Thank you, Sharon, for being such an asset to the Town of Randolph’s COVID vaccination clinic and for being  a great representative of South Shore Staffing for so many years. We can’t wait to help you find your next position and know that any company will be very lucky to have you!
