Ed McDaid, president and founder of South Shore Staffing in Canton, hopes his company will prosper as the job market improves in 2013. McDaid grew up and lives in Canton. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a political science degree.
After college, McDaid worked as a recruiter for national companies. When the company he worked for closed its Quincy office in 2003, McDaid was left with the choice of looking for another job with a national company or starting his own. McDaid started South Shore Staffing in 2003 on a “leap of faith.” With a loan from the Bank of Canton, one employee beside himself, and his own knowledge of the industry, McDaid grew his company one client at a time.
