Frequently Asked Questions

Staffing is all about timing and finding the right fit. Once you’ve completed our application process, we will reach out as soon as we have a job that fits your background and skills.

You may apply online or submit your resume. Once we determine that your background and skills are a match for what our clients are typically looking for, a recruiter will reach out to discuss your job search and how we can be a resource for you.

The typical next step would be setting up an in-person interview here in our office but, during COVID, we are doing everything virtually. When you meet with a recruiter, we’ll discuss your work history, skills, and what you are looking for in your next position. The recruiter will give you an in-depth overview which covers how our process works and what to expect next. Once you have completed the interview, or most likely before you meet with us, you’ll be asked to complete some software evaluations to determine your skill levels. These are online evaluations that are done from the comfort of your own home. They are web-based, and you do not need the software (i.e., QuickBooks or Microsoft Office) on your home computer to complete them.

South Shore Staffing calls previous employers for reference checks, and these calls are typically done before you start an assignment. Please be prepared to provide contact information for your references upon our request.

After your interview and once you are fully set up in our database, we will contact you for jobs based on all the factors of your interview process and the needs of our clients.

You may not be interested in every job we send your way. That’s ok! You are never negatively impacted by turning down any position we call you with, and we will continue to contact you for other opportunities as soon as we can.

We realize that not every job will be a good fit for you, and sometimes you don’t know that until you’ve tried the position. If you are on an assignment and find it’s not going to work for you, please contact us immediately. You may be asked to stay there long enough for us to find a replacement, but we will work to remedy the situation as quickly as possible. As with any interaction, communication is key. Please be honest with your feedback and contact us any time.

South Shore Staffing charges no fees to our applicants. If you’re hired, we pay you, and we bill our clients for your services.

Most of our open positions are posted on our website and on our social media pages. The best way to stay informed is to keep in touch with us and check in semi-regularly.

Remember, if you haven’t heard from us, it’s not that we’ve forgotten about you! We just haven’t had anything come in yet that fits your background.
