Lisa Corrigan for National Women's Small Business Month

Why we’re always celebrating National Women’s Small Business Month

Today may be one of the last official days of National Women’s Small Business Month, but it’s something we celebrate every day of the year: when our President Lisa Corrigan joined at the start of the year, South Shore Staffing continued an eight-year streak as a women-owned small business.

Lisa brings over 25 years of staffing experience to South Shore Staffing where she shares her experience and expertise with our team of recruiters. It’s her passion for staffing—helping people find more fulfilling jobs and assisting companies in filling important roles—that fuels her to this day.

Over the years, Lisa has been influenced by strong female role models in both her professional and personal life. From her mother to her female bosses, Lisa has long admired women with drive and grit who use their determination and success to lift up others. At yesterday’s South Shore Conference for Women, Lisa brought with her our newest hire, recent-grad Caroline Howard, for some valuable one-on-one time and a chance to expose Caroline to the wider community of inspiring women in the South Shore. It was opportunities similar to this that Lisa remembers as being influential in her early years of staffing.

Lisa fulfilled a life-long dream of owning her own business in January 2021 with the purchase of South Shore Staffing. An entrepreneur at heart, she thinks staffing is a great career for women. She has seen the staffing industry evolve and, with advances in technology, it’s possible for women to work whenever and wherever for better work/life balance.

Lisa currently resides on the South Shore with her husband, children, and dogs. She sits on the board of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, is a member of the Neponset River Regional Chamber, and is a certified women’s business owner.
