President & CEO
“I have spent over 20 years in the staffing industry and am very grateful to continue the superior reputation of South Shore Staffing as its new President & CEO. I’m fortunate to have inherited a brilliant team of professionals who have delivered incomparable service to our loyal clientele. We are developing new strategies for growth that will greatly benefit our current clients as well as our new clients to come.
As a lifelong resident of the area, I’m looking forward to building meaningful relationships with the South Shore business community and participating in constructive growth.”
“My brother Ed started South Shore Staffing in 2004. His vision was to make a positive impact for people and businesses on the South Shore. After Ed unexpectedly passed away in 2013, I took the reins of his successful business. I am pleased to be able to transition South Shore Staffing to Lisa knowing that the legacy of the business he began will continue.
We at South Shore Staffing are helping individuals and businesses find the right match for right opportunity. South Shore Staffing is not like any other staffing firm. We take advantage of the technologies and best practices of the larger employment agencies and combine them with a passion for people.”
“I’ve spent my entire life on the South Shore, having grown up in Weymouth and attended Weymouth Schools. I graduated from Massasoit Community College in Brockton and began my working career with BayBank in Dedham. After moving to Hanson and starting a family, I made the transition from banking to healthcare in 1997 when I joined a long-term care pharmacy located in Brockton.
I was laid off in early 2012 and had the opportunity to assess where I wanted to be and what I wanted to do next in my career. One thing I knew for sure was that my preference was to stay on the South Shore. As a National Director managing staff at my previous employer, I had done business with Ed McDaid and South Shore Staffing. I had experienced firsthand the difference in the quality and service provided by Ed’s team compared to the larger staffing agencies. It was a no-brainer for me to turn to South Shore Staffing for direction and guidance in my job search.
A few months later, an opportunity came up within the company that seemed like a good fit. With my background in management, I could relate to businesses seeking staffing solutions. And with my recent experience seeking employment, I could relate to others who were facing the challenges of finding employment in the current economic environment.
I couldn’t be more excited to be part of the team at South Shore Staffing – and to feel that I’m able to impact the lives of those seeking employment and the businesses that benefit from our staffing solutions on the South Shore.”
Director of Staffing
“I had worked in the restaurant field after earning my Bachelor’s degree in English from Bridgewater State College. When it came time to evaluate different career options, I came to South Shore Staffing looking for a temporary placement and perhaps something that could lead to a permanent job. I was looking for something in HR administration, and I definitely wanted to stay south of Boston. I was thrilled when South Shore Staffing approached me about an internal position within their organization.
I understood the unique needs and challenges of the business owner from my own family experience. My grandfather, father and uncle all owned and operated a local hardware store in Canton for many years. South Shore Staffing is committed to the local approach, and to developing lasting business relationships. As a Senior Staffing Specialist, I get to work with people in career transition and with clients who trust me to find the right talent. The ability to help place people in the right work environment is very rewarding.”
About the Founder
Edwin A. McDaid
“I’ve always wanted to make a positive impact for people here on the South Shore. Growing up, I was inspired by my dad and his company, McDaid Insurance. He built a highly successful business out of the basement of our house, and over the years, he has helped so many of our friends and neighbors.
I started South Shore Staffing to do the same… to support the people and businesses of our community. Prior to starting South Shore Staffing, I spent 14 years in the staffing industry, learning from some of the largest firms in the business. While those companies had great systems and procedures, they lacked passion for their customers — the kind of dedication and service you get from a local business owner.
As you will see, we’ve created a company that’s not like any other staffing firm. Sure, we take advantage of the same technologies and best practices of the big guys, but the real difference is in our service, our caring and our commitment.”
Ed passed away unexpectedly in 2013, but his spirit lives on every day at South Shore Staffing.
